Upgrade a compatible Remington 700 Long Action rifle with the MDT ORYX Sportsman Chassis System.

The ORYX uses a rigid aircraft-grade aluminium chassis to create a stable connection between the rifle action and stock. Its aluminium V-block bedding system supports the receiver, while the free-floating forend removes unwanted pressure from the barrel.

This version is made for right-handed Remington 700 Long Action rifles and uses standard 3.715-inch long-action AICS-pattern magazines.

Compatibility with a Remington 700-pattern action does not guarantee that every clone will fit without modification.

Calibre Compatibility

The chassis is selected according to the rifle’s action length, not calibre alone.

Compatible long-action chamberings may include:

Compatibility depends on the action, bolt face and correct AICS-pattern magazine. The chassis does not change the rifle’s chambering or bolt face.

Select a magazine specifically designed for the cartridge family. Standard and belted-magnum cartridges may require different magazine bodies or internal geometry.

Important Magazine Information

This chassis uses detachable 3.715-inch long-action AICS-pattern magazines.

It does not accept:

• 3.850-inch CIP magazines
• Short-action AICS magazines
• Standard Remington BDL floorplates
• Original hinged-floorplate magazine boxes
• Proprietary detachable magazines from unrelated rifle platforms

A magazine is not included.

The 3.715-inch magazine limit is especially important when loading long bullets in cartridges such as .300 Winchester Magnum. Ammunition loaded beyond the magazine’s internal length may need to be single-fed or used with a different chassis and CIP-length magazine system.

Construction and Ergonomics

The aluminium V-block bedding area creates a rigid and repeatable mounting surface for the action. Bedding compound is normally not required for a standard installation.

The forend allows the barrel to free float, provided the barrel contour remains within the stated clearance. A free-floating barrel helps prevent stock pressure from changing the rifle’s point of impact.

The adjustable cheek riser helps align the shooter’s eye with the scope. Length-of-pull adjustment allows the stock to be configured for different shooting positions, clothing and body sizes.

The included MDT Elite pistol grip provides a more vertical trigger-hand position for prone, bench and supported shooting.

M-LOK slots beneath the forend can accept compatible:

• Picatinny rail sections
• Tripod adapters
• Barricade accessories
• Other M-LOK equipment

Compatible aftermarket ARCA rails may also be installed. The ARCA rail and accessories are sold separately.

Installation

Installation normally involves transferring the Remington 700 barreled action, trigger and related components from the original stock into the ORYX chassis.

Always:

• Unload the rifle completely
• Remove all ammunition from the work area
• Follow the MDT installation instructions
• Use the supplied model-specific hardware
• Apply the recommended action-screw torque
• Confirm that the barrel is fully free floating
• Check trigger and safety operation
• Confirm bolt movement and cocking
• Check magazine retention and release
• Verify feeding and extraction before live use

Do not overtighten the action screws. Incorrect torque can damage components or affect accuracy.

Professional installation by a competent gunsmith is recommended when fitting a clone action or if the owner is unfamiliar with firearm assembly.
