DNT Optics HS650R Hydra-LRF Thermal Scope
The DNT Optics HS650R Hydra-LRF Thermal Scope is a high-performance, multi-function thermal imaging system designed for demanding outdoor applications. Combining a standalone thermal scope, clip-on, handheld monocular, laser rangefinder and DNT Ballistic Engine with a large 50mm objective lens, the HS650R provides an advanced thermal platform in a compact design.
Supplied with a QDM150 quick-detach mount, the HS650R allows convenient switching between handheld scanning and rifle-mounted configurations. Its high-resolution sensor, low NETD rating and 50mm objective lens are designed to deliver detailed thermal imagery when clarity matters most.
640×512 High-Resolution Thermal Sensor
The HS650R is equipped with a 640×512 uncooled infrared sensor featuring 12×12μm pixels and a NETD of ≤18mK @ 25°C.
Operating at 50 FPS, the sensor produces smooth, high-resolution thermal imagery with fine detail and strong image clarity.
DNT’s Image Super Resolution (ISR) technology further enhances the image, reaching near 960-equivalent resolution at 10× digital zoom according to the supplied product specifications.
Large 50mm Objective Lens
A 50mm objective lens gives the HS650R a strong foundation for detailed thermal imaging at greater distances. The larger objective is designed to enhance image clarity while supporting detection and recognition in challenging environments.
The HS650R features a 2.5× base magnification with digital magnification from 2.5× to 10×.
Its specified field of view is 15.4 yd × 11.5 yd at 100 yards.
Integrated Laser Rangefinder
The HS650R incorporates a high-precision laser rangefinder for measuring distance.
The supplied product description states a measurement range of 5-1,300 yards, while the technical specification table lists 5-1,200 yards. The manufacturer’s current specification should be confirmed before publishing a final rangefinder-distance claim.
Measured distance information can be combined with the DNT Ballistic Engine to calculate drop compensation based on the selected ballistic profile.
DNT Ballistic Engine
The integrated DNT Ballistic Engine brings ballistic calculation functionality directly to the HS650R.
Ballistic profiles can be adjusted on the device or fine-tuned through the DNT App, providing flexibility when configuring the system for different requirements.
Together with the integrated laser rangefinder, the ballistic engine provides a streamlined system for incorporating measured distance into ballistic calculations.
1024×768 Micro-OLED Display
Thermal imagery is presented through a 1024×768 Micro-OLED display operating at a 50Hz frame rate.
The high-resolution display complements the 640×512 thermal sensor, providing a detailed viewing experience while the 50Hz refresh rate supports smooth image presentation.
Six Functions in One Thermal Platform
The HS650R combines several functions into a single system:
- Standalone Thermal Scope
- Thermal Clip-On
- Handheld Thermal Monocular
- Laser Rangefinder
- DNT Ballistic Engine
- 50mm Objective Lens
The included QDM150 quick-detach mount supports convenient transitions between handheld and mounted configurations.
18650 Battery System
The HS650R uses two 18650 flat-top batteries and provides approximately 4 hours of operating time.
For additional power flexibility, the thermal system supports 5V Type-C USB external power.
Built-In 32GB Memory and Wi-Fi
The HS650R features 32GB of built-in memory and Wi-Fi connectivity through the DNT App.
This provides onboard storage together with app connectivity for supported configuration and system functions.
Rugged IP67 Construction
Designed for demanding outdoor environments, the HS650R features a rugged, shock-resistant housing with an IP67 ingress protection rating.
The optic is rated for recoil up to .50 BMG and operates from −20°C to 50°C / −4°F to 122°F.
Its combination of environmental protection and rugged construction makes the HS650R suitable for challenging conditions, including rain, snow and dusty environments.
