MDT GRND-POD Picatinny Bipod Black – 105560-BLK

The MDT GRND-POD is a lightweight and adjustable rifle bipod designed for hunting, target shooting and precision-rifle use.

This model attaches directly to a compatible Picatinny rail. Its carbon-fibre legs and 6061-T6 aluminium core provide a strong shooting platform without adding excessive weight to the rifle.

Independent leg adjustment, adjustable cant tension and four locking leg positions help the shooter build a stable position on level or uneven ground.

Product Specifications

Height Adjustment

The bipod provides a height range from approximately 4.5 to 9 inches, measured from the pivot point.

• The lowest height is achieved with the legs angled forward.
• The highest position is achieved with the legs extended in the 90° downward position.
• Each leg can be adjusted independently.
• The legs can be extended by pulling them downward.
• The controls are designed for quick, one-handed use.

Independent adjustment is useful when shooting from rocky, sloped or uneven surfaces.

Locking Leg Positions

Each leg can be locked in four positions:

• 0° – stowed forward
• 50° – angled forward
• 90° – straight down
• 180° – stowed rearward

The different positions allow the shooter to adjust the height, footprint and balance of the rifle for the available support surface.

Cant Adjustment

The Picatinny version provides up to 32° of cant adjustment.

Cant allows the rifle to be levelled when the bipod feet are resting on uneven ground. The adjustable throw lever controls the amount of resistance.

The cant can be left slightly movable for quick levelling or tightened to hold the rifle more firmly.

This bipod provides cant adjustment but should not be advertised as a panning bipod.

Picatinny Compatibility

This model attaches to a compatible Picatinny or MIL-STD-1913 rail.

It can be used on:

• Rifle chassis with a Picatinny bipod rail
• Stocks fitted with a suitable Picatinny rail section
• Handguards with a correctly installed Picatinny rail
• Other firearms using a compatible rail and suitable mounting position

The rail must be securely installed and provide enough space for the bipod clamp.

Important Mounting Information

This version does not mount directly to:

• M-LOK slots
• ARCA or RRS dovetail rails
• Sling-swivel studs
• KeyMod slots

A separate adapter or rail section may be required when the rifle does not already have a Picatinny rail.

MDT manufactures different GRND-POD versions for ARCA/RRS, M-LOK, A.R.M.S. #17 and sling-swivel-stud mounting. Confirm the attachment system before ordering.

Materials and Construction

The GRND-POD uses:

• Carbon-fibre leg tubes for reduced weight
• A 6061-T6 aluminium core for strength
• High-strength polymer adjustment buttons
• Replaceable feet for different shooting surfaces

The combination provides a practical balance between strength, weight and ease of operation.

Replaceable Feet

The supplied feet provide traction on dirt, rock and hard surfaces.

The GRND-POD leg interface is compatible with selected MDT CKYE-POD and Atlas-style replacement feet. Optional feet can include designs suited to soft soil, hard surfaces or other specialised applications.

Replacement or alternative feet are sold separately.

Bipod performance depends on the strength of the rifle’s rail and the quality of the rail installation.

Installation

Before installing the bipod:

1. Unload the firearm completely.
2. Remove the magazine.
3. Open the action.
4. Confirm visually and physically that the chamber is empty.
5. Inspect the Picatinny rail for loose screws or damage.

Position the bipod on the desired rail slot. Secure the clamp according to MDT’s instructions.

After installation, confirm that:

• The clamp is fully engaged with the rail
• The bipod does not move under hand pressure
• The clamp does not interfere with the barrel
• The legs lock securely in every position
• The rifle remains stable before use

Check the mount regularly, especially after transport or extended firing.
