The Insta360 Luna Ultra Backpack Mount lets you capture hands-free, first-person point-of-view (POV) footage while hiking, travelling or creating outdoor vlogs. This locking backpack strap mount holds your compatible Luna Ultra camera lens-forward on your chest, helping you record your adventures from your own perspective.
Moreover, its double-locking design helps keep both the mount and camera securely in place. The two-part system combines a locking wedge for the backpack strap with a specially designed camera cradle. As a result, you can move freely while keeping your camera ready to capture the action.
Key Features
- Hands-Free POV Filming: Capture first-person footage while hiking, travelling and exploring.
- Double-Locking System: Helps secure the mount to your backpack strap and the camera to the cradle.
- Closed-Loop Strap Design: The locking wedge closes the loop around the strap without requiring you to unthread your backpack.
- Self-Locking Wedge: Its tapered design helps increase friction if the mount begins to slip.
- Enhanced Strap Grip: Serrated and ribbed surfaces grip the backpack strap from opposite sides.
- Secure Camera Cradle: A spring-finger ledge helps prevent the camera from bouncing out during upward movement.
- Quick Camera Release: Press the release tab with your thumb to lift the camera straight out.
- Adjustable Fit Range: Designed for backpack straps up to 52 mm wide and 8.5–16 mm thick.
Double-Locking Design for Added Security
The Insta360 Luna Ultra Backpack Strap Mount uses two separate locking mechanisms to help keep your camera secure.
1. Locking Backpack Strap Attachment
The mount forms a closed loop around your backpack strap. First, slide the strap edge-first through the side opening. This design works with sewn-in backpack straps, so you do not need to unthread the strap.
Next, insert the locking wedge from the top. Its 6.5° tapered profile is designed to self-lock through friction. If the mount starts to slide down the strap, the wedge is designed to engage more firmly. In addition, the serrated face and ribbed backplate help grip the fabric from both sides.
2. Secure Camera Cradle
The camera cradle is designed around the Luna Ultra’s shape. A spring-finger ledge engages the natural bulge of the camera handle, helping prevent it from bouncing out during upward jolts.
When the camera is seated, the ledge is designed to remain clear of the handle. If the camera moves upward, the ledge catches it. To remove the camera, simply press the release tab with your thumb and lift it straight out.
