The Balistix .264″/6.5mm 125gr RBT Target Bullets are designed for target shooting, match use and load development. Their monolithic copper construction and rebated boat tail design aim to deliver strong ballistic performance. In addition, the Target range offers the highest ballistic coefficient of the three Balistix bullet types, according to the manufacturer.

Each box contains 50 bullets. Balistix combines precision CNC manufacturing with a tangent ogive, low-friction bearing surface and Hexagonal Boron Nitride (HBN) treatment. Together, these features aim to support consistent performance during target shooting and load development.

Important: Balistix recommends using the Target bullet for target shooting rather than hunting.

Key Features

Calibre: .264″/6.5mm

HBN treatment: Supports lubrication and helps reduce fouling
Intended use: Target shooting, match shooting and load development

Monolithic Copper Construction

Balistix makes these Target bullets from more than 99.5% pure copper. As a result, they offer a lead-free option for target shooters and reloaders.

Copper has a lower specific gravity than lead. Therefore, a copper bullet can weigh less than a lead-core bullet of similar length. This difference may allow higher velocities with a suitable load. However, actual results depend on the rifle, cartridge and load.

Always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations when selecting bullet weight for your rifle’s barrel twist rate.

Rebated Boat Tail Design

The rebated boat tail helps manage gas flow as the bullet exits the muzzle. In addition, its shape combines the ballistic benefits of a boat-tail profile with a design intended to support precision.

Balistix states that its rebated boat tail can improve precision and accuracy by up to 15% compared with a conventional boat tail. However, actual results vary with the rifle, load and shooting conditions.

Tangent Ogive Design

The bullet features a tangent ogive, which is less sensitive to bullet jump. Therefore, reloaders can adjust seating depth when developing loads for their rifles.

The ogive engages with the rifling lands rather than using a bore-rider design. Furthermore, reloaders can use an ogive comparator tool to measure bullet position and support precise seating-depth adjustments.

Low-Friction Bearing Surface

Balistix designs the bearing surface within SAAMI tolerances. It also uses a low-friction drive-band design to help reduce copper fouling and support lower-pressure characteristics.

As a result, this design aims to support consistent performance during repeated shooting sessions. Always use suitable published load data and follow safe reloading practices.

Hexagonal Boron Nitride (HBN) Treatment

Hexagonal Boron Nitride, or HBN, acts as a solid lubricant and handles high temperatures well. Balistix applies this treatment to help improve the performance of its monolithic copper bullets.

The HBN treatment aims to:

Reduce fouling compared with untreated monolithic bullets.
Help reduce pressure compared with untreated bullets under suitable conditions.
Reduce extreme velocity spread.
Support consistent accuracy between cold-bore and follow-up shots.
Help reduce elevation dispersion.

Therefore, HBN treatment may help support more consistent results during target shooting. However, actual performance depends on the rifle, load and shooting conditions.

Why Choose Balistix RBT Target Bullets?

Balistix RBT Target bullets combine monolithic copper construction with design features aimed at ballistic performance and precision. Their rebated boat tail supports the bullet’s aerodynamic design, while the tangent ogive gives reloaders flexibility during load development. In addition, the HBN treatment helps limit fouling.

Choose these 125-grain bullets for suitable .264″/6.5mm target and match applications. Before loading, check compatibility with your rifle and follow the manufacturer’s recommendations. Use the Target range for target shooting rather than hunting, as Balistix advises.

Brand

Balistix

The Balistix team is a group of South African hunting and competitive sport shooting enthusiasts. All three friends, ranging from a successful manufacturing engineering entrepreneur, an investment and corporate banker, and a mechanical engineer had a dream to locally produce a monolithic bullet that not only conforms, but more importantly, exceeds the demands of the modern day shooter and hunter. The objective was to provide a local alternative to imported established brand names. The worldwide drive to ban lead-core bullets, as well as the sheer cost of imported products against the shifting exchange rate prompted the establishment of Balistix Bullets. In an effort to curb these problems, the three founding members decided to enter the market with the mission of supplying a high quality premium monolithic bullet that will consistently perform beyond expectation. This will be achieved through applying a modern approach to bullet design against the status quo. Our motto, “Where Accuracy Counts”, is a promise we intend to keep.
