The Nielsen Sonic SubSonic .17 is a compact front-mounted silencer designed specifically for .17-calibre rifles using 4.5 mm projectiles. Nielsen Sonic confirms that the model can handle both .17 HMR and .17 Hornet.

A reinforced brass insert is fitted inside the first module. It protects the aluminium components from the increased heat and powder gases produced by cartridges such as .17 HMR and .17 Hornet, improving durability and service life.

The silencer has a slim 35 mm diameter and weighs approximately 146 g. Its modular construction allows it to be disassembled for maintenance. Up to five additional SubSonic .17 modules may be installed to increase internal volume and improve suppression. Additional modules are sold separately.

Performance information:

The silencer reduces the firearm’s muzzle report. However, most of the noise produced by high-velocity .17-calibre cartridges comes from the projectile’s supersonic crack. A muzzle-mounted silencer cannot eliminate this ballistic noise.

Compatibility notice:

Use only with a compatible .17-calibre firearm firing 4.5 mm projectiles. Confirm the rifle’s exact calibre, pressure suitability, 1/2×28 UNEF muzzle thread, shoulder dimensions and bore alignment before use.

The first module contains a special brass insert and must not be replaced with a standard optional extension module.

Maintenance:

Remove the silencer after use and allow it to dry completely.
Do not allow the barrel or silencer to become excessively hot.
Clean with suitable oil and a soft cloth when necessary.
Avoid alkaline cleaners, ultrasonic cleaners and abrasive products.
Regularly separate the modules and apply suitable thread grease if continued disassembly is required.

These years of experience has evolved our production technology with a focus on quality, efficiency and precision. Jørgen Nielsen is responsible for managing the daily running of the companies production as well as the development of new products.Jørgen has since 1980 worked with production of hunting rifles and accessories. During the 1980’s Jørgen bought large amounts of the Carl Gustaf military rifles in Sweden and customised them into hunting rifles, these were very popular in Denmark and Sweden.In 1994 he took over Schultz & Larsen Otterup weapons factory, here the whole production and designs were carefully analysed leading to improvements. Jørgen designed the model DL97, Classic, and Victory as well as rifle accessories such as the Slide & Lock scope mounts and the Hard-Core suppressor. There is no longer any collaboration between Jørgen and Schultz & Larsen.
