Addax Endurance & Trail Saddle
Description
The Addax Saddle is a popular choice for riders looking for a versatile, comfortable, and secure fit — especially for big shouldered horses. This deep, wide saddle is designed with a 4” (10cm) spine gullet and a 9” (22.9cm) front gullet, offering excellent shoulder clearance and back support for your horse.
Featuring a narrower seat twist for close contact, it allows riders to maintain a balanced position while enjoying exceptional comfort for long hours in the saddle. The 12” wide cantle and deep seat provide added security and support on rugged trails or during long-distance endurance rides.
Ideal for horses with both high and low withers, the Addax suits a broad range of breeds, including draft horses. It’s built with short, straight bars and a high swell to enhance rider control and horse freedom of movement.

The Addax includes innovative skirts with velcro on the underside, allowing you to attach three different thicknesses of neoprene pads (2x 10mm, 2x 14mm, 2x 18mm). This modular padding system ensures a fully customizable fit for your horse, improving comfort and saddle stability.

Phantom Model
The Phantom Addax is a stripped-down, lightweight version of the standard saddle, ideal for endurance riders. Constructed with light neoprene rubber between two pieces of chrome leather, it significantly reduces weight while maintaining strength and durability. The Phantom comes standard with 25mm stirrup straps and leather sleeve covers.

Franco C saddlery is an international, family owned and run business. Our Factory is based in the midlands of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. We ship our saddle to all corners of the world from our factory just off the N3 highway in Mooi River. We love traveling all over the world to meet clients and ride in order to better understand the needs of our diverse range of clients.
We manufacture skirted saddles on our own trees, designed and manufactured in-house. Franco C Saddlery is committed to uphold a high level of service and quality. Our constant interaction with clients, and the different disciplines that we serve, ensure that we keep improving and developing saddle models that meet the needs of our clients.
We serve lots of small and large trail companies, stables and clubs in the disciplines of Endurance, Polo Crosse, Western Mounted Games, and Western Riding. We have been the saddle and tack manufacturer for the Mongol Derby since 2012.

📌 Quick Tips: How to Check Saddle Gullet Fit

You should be able to fit 2–3 fingers between the saddle pommel and the horse’s withers when the rider is seated.
